What Is the 7/7 Testing Standard and Why It Matters for Research Peptides

Testing Standards · 2025-01-24 · MyPeptidePrice Team

When you're comparing peptide vendors, price isn't the only number that matters. A cheap vial means nothing if what's inside doesn't match what's on the label.

That's where the 7/7 testing standard comes in , and it's the baseline we use to decide which vendors appear on MyPeptidePrice.com.

What Does 7/7 Mean?

The 7/7 standard refers to seven specific third-party lab tests that a vendor must pass before we list their products. These tests are conducted by independent labs with no financial relationship to the vendor.

The seven tests are:

  1. Net Purity , Is the compound actually pure? What percentage is active ingredient?
  2. Net Content , Does the vial contain the amount advertised (in mg)?
  3. Heavy Metals , Are there dangerous trace metals like lead or arsenic present?
  4. Endotoxins , Are bacterial toxins present that could cause adverse reactions?
  5. Identification , Is the compound actually what it claims to be?
  6. Sterility , Is the product free from microbial contamination?
  7. Conformity , Does the product match its certificate of analysis (CoA)?

Why Most Vendors Only Do 2 or 3

Most vendors in the research peptide space run a basic HPLC purity test and call it a day. That tells you the compound is reasonably pure , but it tells you nothing about heavy metals, endotoxins, or whether you're actually getting the right amount per vial.

The vendors we track all meet the full 7/7 standard. That means their CoAs cover all seven categories, from independent labs, published publicly.

How to Read a Certificate of Analysis

When evaluating a vendor, always look for:

If a vendor won't publish their CoA, that's a red flag regardless of price.

The Bottom Line

Price per mg matters. But purity per dollar matters more. A vial that's 60% pure at a "great price" is more expensive than a clean vial at full price , you're just getting less of what you paid for.

That's why every vendor on MyPeptidePrice.com has to meet the full 7/7 standard before their prices show up in our comparison tables.
